Rutgers Wrestling welcome kids of all ages to take part in a weekend of learning and growing
Rutgers Wrestling Camp: Building Champions On and Off the Mat
Wrestlers of all ages and skill levels gathered at Rutgers University for the annual Rutgers Wrestling Camp, a premier summer training opportunity designed to help young athletes refine their technique, compete at a high level, and develop a strong work ethic. The camp, led by top-tier coaches and athletes, featured three distinct programs tailored to different age groups and experience levels.
Youth Camp (Grades K-5)Designed for the youngest competitors, the Youth Camp provided a fun and engaging environment where wrestlers focused on learning the fundamentals of the sport. Through round-robin tournaments and hands-on instruction, participants gained valuable experience in a structured yet enjoyable setting, setting the foundation for future success on the mat.
Technique Camp (Grades 5-12)The Technique Camp catered to serious wrestlers looking to sharpen their skills and push themselves to the next level. This program featured in-depth technique sessions and competitive individual tournaments throughout the week, allowing participants to apply their training in live situations. Campers had the option to attend as commuters or stay overnight for a more immersive experience.
Team Camp (Grades 8-12)One of the most competitive aspects of the Rutgers Wrestling Camp, the Team Camp brought together some of the top programs on the East Coast. Wrestlers faced high-level competition in an individual tournament format while also benefiting from technique sessions throughout the week. Like the Technique Camp, participants could choose between commuter and overnight options, ensuring flexibility for teams traveling from various locations.
With dedicated coaching, top-tier competition, and a commitment to excellence, the Rutgers Wrestling Camp continues to be a staple for young wrestlers looking to take their skills to new heights. Whether developing basic fundamentals or refining high-level techniques, every participant left with valuable lessons and an improved understanding of the sport.
